Join the NDA (Northwest Documentary Association) for our third annual one-of-a-kind rustic summer retreat, Dates are still to be decided for this year's retreat DocFarm 2008! Once again, Docfarm will take place in the pastoral setting of Smoke Farm in scenic Arlington, Washington, just one hour north of Seattle. DocFarm 2007 was a great success and featured informal workshops focusing on the latest technical and artistic trends in documentary filmmaking.
Other highlites from last year's retreat included another dynamic Works in Progress Screening, presentations on film festivals and distribution, a special workshop on producing audio documentaries, Chico's amazing meals and beautiful summer weather.
Our featured film last year was "Libby, Montana," a journey into the world of a hard-working, blue-collar community that exemplifies the American Dream gone horribly wrong. Director Doug Hawes-Davis was in attendance for the whole retreat. The film made its national premiere on PBS's POV the same evening it was screened at DocFarm.
